A few years ago when I lived in Oklahoma, I lived in a rural neighborhood that was shaped like a figure 8. I could see the road behind me from where I lived.
During the early evening, just as dusk settled and the sunset started to give way to the night sky, I happened to look out my living room evening, at the street behind me. I saw a purple hued light in the shape of an orb, traveling down the road. At first, I thought it was a light on a little kid’s bike, but I soon noticed that it didn’t move up or down as it would when hitting bumps and dips in the road, and it didn’t speed up or down when going down the hill or turning the corner.
I still thought there was room for it to be a bike, but I continued to watch it from each window’s vantage point. When it rounded the corner and I lost sight of it from the comfort of inside my home, I went outside to stand on my front porch. It continued to travel toward and onto my stretch of street, so I decided to hide behind a little, bushy pine tree near my driveway to watch. I realized this was no light on a bike when it glided across the deep ditch and up the steep driveway, with nary a drop in height or movement.
As it got closer to my pine tree safety zone, I discovered that there was nothing attached to it– just a ball of light and I seemed to be it’s target of interest. My curiosity let it get within about 6 feet from me, but my instincts kicked in with a strong sense of, “NOPE,” and kicked me into action.
In what I can best describe as awesome in retrospect, I bolted as fast as my legs would carry me, Mario-wall-jumped over my fence, and flew into the safety of my home, slamming the back door behind me. My family came in the living room after hearing the commotion, but even after searching the front yard, back yard, and looking towards any surrounding streets, the purple light was gone.
To this day, I don’t know what could produce such an intensely colored light, let alone one that was intelligent enough to show curiosity when my presence was sensed. This has been one of the few paranormal incidents where I’ve been able to remember every detail, from how the sunset looked to how warm it was to how the orb looked and moved.
