Inside this investigation
The team reacts to a hiss-like sound while using holy water during the second part of our Halloween investigation. JJ appears as “Brother John” in a costume; this should not be confused with a documented formal exorcism. The recording includes playback and discussion of noises heard in the house. I want you to compare the sound with the nearby speech, movement and equipment before deciding what it resembles. The chapter list provides a route through the experiment and the reactions it prompted.
For your own review, listen once without trying to hear a particular word. Then compare the suggested interpretation with the surrounding audio and the question being asked. A repeated playback can help locate a sound, but it can also make an ambiguous fragment feel more familiar. The original description below preserves the investigation notes rather than replacing them with a verdict. In this episode's discussion, give the exact time, describe what you hear and explain any ordinary source you think should be considered. You can also compare the neighboring recordings through the episode navigation.

IT HISSED AT HOLY WATER?! During our Halloween night ghost hunt at the Welles House, a sudden hiss-like sound interrupts our attempt to bless the house. We replay the recording and compare it with noises we'd previously heard inside the property. Listen closely and decide what made it. I'm Tim Wood, founder of LiveSciFi. In Episode 38 of A House Worse Than Amityville, we return for part two of our Halloween investigation at 46 South Welles Street in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania (also known in searches as 46 Welles Street). JJ, Dave, Bambi and I investigate reported sounds, shadows, possible EVPs and physical sensations while filming inside the reportedly haunted house. For this Halloween experiment, JJ appears as “Brother John” in a priest costume, and we use holy water as part of a provocative house-blessing session. This is not a documented formal exorcism. What matters is the original footage and whether the sounds have ordinary or unexplained causes. EPISODE 38 — YOUTUBE CHAPTERS

1:15:25 Missing investigation journals discussed A HISS DURING THE HOLY WATER EXPERIMENT? At about 15:33, I stop the walkthrough because I think I hear a hiss. We replay the recording, and members of the team say the sound resembles something heard earlier at the house. A recorded noise doesn't establish a demonic source. Listen for the timing of the spray bottle, clothing movement, footsteps and background sounds, then tell me whether the hiss seems separate from them. DARK SHADOWS, SCRATCHING SOUNDS AND STRANGE SENSATIONS While investigating upstairs, one team member reports something touching his neck around 20:36. Later the crew listens to a possible dragging or scratching noise. Around 27:55, a dark shape is noticed in a corner, and the team considers an ordinary object in that spot as an explanation. At 35:02, I describe a shadow that seems to obscure the sofa. Low light, camera angle and moving light sources can change how a room looks. THE CANDLE AND THE BURNING SENSATION We also question a candle that has drawn our attention during the investigation. After challenging whatever might be present, an investigator reports a burning sensation on the back of a leg at about 40:36; the team sees a red spot. The footage doesn't show what caused it, so I won't claim it was a supernatural injury. WHAT VIEWERS SPOTTED In the original comments, viewers pointed to a possible figure in the living room around 03:39 and a bright orb-like light by the staircase at 53:36. Those are viewer reports, not independently verified apparitions. Dust, insects, infrared reflections and video compression can create unusual shapes or lights. If you see them, tell us exactly what the camera shows. WHY WE DIDN'T ENTER THE ATTIC AGAIN THAT NIGHT After our earlier attic experiences, the team discusses returning upstairs but ultimately decides to postpone that investigation. By the end of the night we're exhausted, and we plan to leave the security cameras recording. Episode 38 is the Halloween follow-up and blessing experiment—not footage of a new attic confrontation. HELP US REVIEW THE EVIDENCE What do YOU hear at 15:33? What caused the possible shadow at 35:02? Do you see the viewer-reported staircase light at 53:36? Comment with the EXACT TIMESTAMP and what you see or hear. Alternative explanations are welcome, too. READ MY WELLES HOUSE HISTORY & HAUNTING:
