In this paranormal episode of livescifi.tv’s The Demon Files, we travel to Gold Hill, Nevada—a Comstock-era mining town born from the 1859 silver-and-gold boom that helped build the legendary Comstock Lode and made nearby Virginia City a frontier powerhouse.

At the center of this investigation is the Miner’s Cabin, positioned at the base of the historic Yellow Jacket Mine headframe. During the height of mining operations, this cabin served as a working outpost for miners entering and exiting the shafts—and as a checkpoint meant to stop “high-grading,” the dangerous and common practice of smuggling ore out of the mine.

But the ground beneath this cabin carries a much darker legacy. On April 7, 1869, disaster struck when a fire ignited deep in the Yellow Jacket workings. Smoke, heat, and toxic gases spread through connected tunnels into adjacent mines, trapping crews underground. At least 35 miners died, and some were never recovered—one of the deadliest mining tragedies in Nevada history.

Today, long after the rush ended, visitors report footsteps, voices, shadow movement—and something far more violent. During our investigation, a demonic presence attacks the lead paranormal investigator Tim Wood, turning this historic site into a living nightmare.
