i guess that question is for everyone who is a investigator.
specifically
-do people ever try and hoax you?
-do you ever get lonely people that want ..attention perhaps?
-do you get people that may want to steal equipment?
-do you get people that ask for money?
just curious about the money one ... because i remember on my yahoo chatroom days people trying to get money with a sad story and what not.
and is there other things that you try to be aware of and careful of as investigators concerning claims and people ??
Hey there Mace!
Master T could probably answer your questions better than I... but I do know that Tim has a pretty good screening process to 'weed out' any locations where someone might be just trying to get attention. He's put a lot of time into scouting places out, meeting up with people, and having it not work out because the location/people didn't seem like a good fit for an investigation.

Great ? Mace, we do run into people in the past who have knowlingly/and unknowlingly tried to scam us.
I would say the most common way that people try to scam us are people who are lonely and are looking for attention and they call us over to help them with that.
Most of the times when people have us over residences they don't ask for money, however some places in the past such as a hotel in SF wanted us to fake the reported hauntings on another floor just because they had booked the floor which we were supposed to be on.
I think it is always crucial to have a formal interview in person, if not on the phone and to ask as many questions to your client at that time as possible. Some of the questions I always ask although which some may consider private are:
-Family history
-Past and Current Drug use
-childhood experiences, etc
-Psychological Issues
-Medical History
-Marital status
-Religion preference
-How much tv is watched on a daily basis, and if watched what programs.
Hope this helps.
Tim 😉
