Who/what defines demonic vs. malevolent?

I am curious as to what guidelines may be used to determine what's truly demonic and what's just a severely malevolent spirit.

mel usually what how classify and distinguish demonic manifestation as opposed to a malovent haunt is usually how the entity 1. interacts with the enviroment, and 2. interacts with the person/client is involved. It is always good to remember that demonic beings are not human spirits, therefore the way that they interact and conduct themselves in terms of the enviroment/and the person whom they are effecting are totally different. A perfect example are succubus and incubus dieties which feed off human energies to power and meet their goals of bringing there attachment to destruction.
