I think Tim is haunted lol or its the chat area itself

Ok last night during q&a alot of ppl had been having alot of problems with the chat or the feed or the sound. I know I for one was having bad problems with lagging in the chat or my chat not popping up right away. I had to go down to my computer in the basement for me to even get into chat and partipate. Then it got really cold in my basement no not paranormal its in the teen's in temp here lol so I came back up and logged back in on my laptop. I let it go chat finally came on but was lagging really really bad so I was to the point I wanted to rip my hair out.

But then a light at the end of the tunnel chat wasnt lagging anymore I could type and see what I was typing and I could post and have it post right away problem solved. Then Tim came back online meaning brought the stream back up and then Bam its happened again wayyyyyyyy slowwwwwww chat Then Tim would go away again or fuss with the connection then boom chat back.

Now I am no wiz by any means but I think all of our problems with chat may have to do with the way the feeds are done themselves within the chat area, or maybe Tim is haunted and we are all gonna die lol j/k its just a thought let me know what you guys think??

Btw I didnt have a problem on my big computer when I signed on it and I was able to chat and watch the feed quite well actually.. I just dont know

alot of the issues lately have been caused by tne new codecs that we are using to stream the video and the audio on the site, we are constantly working behnind the scenes on improving the quality of the feeds. Some times you may even catch us running tests on non-show nights.
On another note we will be dumping compltetly the justin.tv player due to the resources that takes up on peoples pages, which could cause some of the slower machines not to play the feeds... and no i am not haunted...lol

I'm assuming you connect to the internet most often with your laptop. Do you have adware and spyware removal programs? How about regularly removing cookies from your computer. Those things can greatly effect the speed of your computer. Also with the streaming that Tim does that takes up you're computer's power. To put it simply. I know when I watch the stream my computer gets slower too.

I was just joking Tim I didnt think you were haunted little bit of a jab at your experience I think I am going to do what D D said and clear my cookies and stuff something I hate to do because I save my passwords and stuff but I do find it odd that it wasnt just me...Thanks for keeping us updated Tim..

Hey MsLola..lol that was my problem to last night..i dunno why tues..everything worked perfectly fine..no problems until near the end..now i just blame it all on Death...i think he managed is way thru fibre optic lines into some of our computers and is having alot of fun with us 😉 my computer works fine for most streaming anywhere, but tend to have a problem in ustream, but only more recently....like one night it works fine..no problems..then next my chat lags..takes forever to post..lose some of my post..my video freezes and audio cuts in and out..no idea what really is to blame for this, for me its really frustrating...today i am bald lol 🙂..have a good evening MsLola..see you tomorrow night ...train

DD, i too have the same problems as MsLola has, but i make sure to run adaware, my virus program , remove cookies, and defrag the computer, with that said, what seems to happen is, chat is okay, runs fast until tim starts up the stream, once stream is on, then chat slows down for me just a bit now, but the video and audio are so bad, i cannot understand what is going on as in Q and A thurs night...where as everything worked fine on tuesday during the burlington..i dunno..i heard ustream made some updates, and i did read there forums alot, and it seems to be a huge issue with alot of ustream viewers of the same problems msLola and i and others are having...why others to not experience the same problem is a mystery to me...my computer is good but not the greatest, it was built for me, and first computer i had the hard drive crashed so my ex did this computer for me, i realized i lost alot of the good stuff like a my video card..i had a great one before, now this one is less of the two, and also i run on less ram...but my queston is i run fine on all other streams anywhere else on the interernet but ustream..so i figure the problem is between my computer and ustream and could be the active X i cannot install with my windows Xp pro..its not the original but copied..so i cannot do updates and active X flash i think is my culprit..i need to get my own version..200.00 ugh

thanks Train 😉 and for the record I dont think Tim is haunted either lol.. I just found it strange Tim would go away and woohoo instachat lol he would come back and boom back to square 1 lol.. Not the mention when I went downstairs to my frozen basement to use our office computer everything went fine..I just froze my a$$ off lol... I think it is a ustream problem cause before in the past if I started to lag in chat I would refresh the whole thing and it would work last night was the first night I think I really really had a problem... that I couldnt fix on my own.. I also know that besides Train and myself that alot of other chatters were having problems also.. Thank god for Tim and Jay our high tech comp guru's who know the problem and are going to try and fix it..

lori, doubt win 98 is the problem, as i have win. xp pro...either a glitch with ustream or windows updates i canot get to run active x flash... but i too want a new computer under two weeks i get one, just need a power cord for it...yay 🙂..

sorry to hear so many people have problems with their connections. i guess i'm rather a lucky spook at that. my putor is fairly equipped and powerful. a wonderful purchase i made after a trip to Europe. found out family prefers to pay for nearly everything on that trip, and i was left with a plus sign on my credit! hahaa! so i bought me a dang fantastical putor! gigs, rams, whatever..not to forget the "power boost" my cable company has given me.. it's all there. i see a lag on occassion, but it's not long before it returns to normal.

thus said.. i feel bad for everyone who experiences problems and would open up my home to those in the neighbourhood (ok now, don't be flying out for them 24hrs streams on weekends without notice well in advance! i live in a batchelor suite! i'm not prepared to share my bed..😮 that would be one paranormal experience to talk about..hahaha!) i've got to get around to connecting it all to my 37" tv.. dang eh? haha!
