Wondering why everyone gets crammed into the lobby

Ok last night I discoved that everyone was crammed into the lobby last night,and it was kinda confusing and kinda I dont want to say stupid but thats what it felt like.. I know alot of ppl stayed away cause in search of the paranormal 3 room was taken away.. Now I stay in the lobby cause I like to talk to Tim and the team and I like to be helpful to spook but last night was really hard for me to concertrate on anything. With all the football talk the getting drunk talk and just the mindless chatter. I mean its ok to have fun but come on we are there for a ghost hunt and chatting casually is ok here there but it would have been nice to have a room to go to that didnt have all the mindless chatter some times.. I personally think its a bad idea let the ppl go to the other rooms if they just want to concertrate on the hunt and maybe chat to each other about the hunt or comment on the hunt if need be have a pm to whomever is taking notes or have more than one note taker to note what is seen. Or have a fun room a room for those who arent that intrested in talking about the hunt the ones who are there to watch and chat. Just a suggestion If its a question of mods being able to moderate other chat rooms then assign a mod to a chat room trade off if need be or have more mods. I for one volunteered to be a mod lol.. Its just a thought because variety is the spice of life and if you take away the variety then you dont have any spice lol...

Thanks for the suggestion lola, we are trying different things out, there are many positives and negatives that go with having a large room vs. small rooms, we are still trying figure out the best solution for the site, and we appreciate your patience. One of the reasons why I had instituted the larger room, was that chatters always have the option of using the ignore button. Also, "In Search of the Paranormal" was initially created for novice, and experienced investigators / or anyone interested as a forum for people to share/exchange and learn about the paranormal. I think having smaller rooms hinders this to some extent. After all some of our viewers may have never met each other in chat if we had small or private chat rooms.
There are many opitons in that chat for chatters to use, larger rooms or small, which should make the chat enjoyable to all..The iggy button the float button are just a few of the opitions. I don't think having 10 or so mods on site is beneficial at all, if anything I think having a low number of mods and letting people mod out stuff that they don't want to read by using the iggy button is the way to go..

as someone who has seen the chatroom changes over the last 6 months, i understand your concerns. trying new things brings on positives and negatives, and its all in trying to find the right equation to create a flow that works.

my thoughts? for me, the recent change has been positive.
why? because i found that i am interacting with the most interesting people who may not be as familiar in how a chatroom works, and what functions we can use to aid in making their experience interesting. thus i've taken time to show others how to use the "ignore" and "private message" functions.
i felt when i was in another chatroom, i was cutting myself off from opportunities to meet others, and it took away from creating that sense of community. i was not one to want more windows open, to create another nickname just to be in the right room when the team would interact with us in chat. i just didn't have time for that. my choice, of course.
for the past few weeks i've enjoyed a wonderful time in the main chat lounge area. why? because i found many members want to help out with creating our investigation notes. it certainly brought on more involvement, and i'm pleased to say, has helped the notes become that much more detailed.
yes, at times chat can become confusing, and rushes by within a blink of the eye.. but ultimately, i've found myself thankful to be with everyone in one room, making it easier to find one another to share thoughts and discussions.
i believe numerous chatrooms has more negatives than positives.
1) more moderators--we cannot expect these people to be online to help out each and every time. thus creating more work for Livescifi.tv to appoint new moderators to ensure all bases are covered.
2) lack of interaction with those who truly are interested and not as familiar with how to cruise around to different rooms etc.
3) missed opportunities of meeting new people.
4) a loss of the sense of community. separating ourselves from one another often brings on negative thoughts, and creates cliques.

i hope we can all enjoy one another in chat as one community filled with respect. and hey Lola, i always appreciate your assistance in helping to create a flow that works. 😁

😁 I read all these posts and tried to think of something negative or positive concerning 1 chat room and well came up with pretty much the same thots and tim and spook..so in saying that ..

I could not have worded or added any better then what tim and spook said..i think the 1 chat room works for all its a matter a the new peeps to understand that change does occur and you just need to try to adapt and enjoy the changes...My hardest change was going from justn tv livescifi chat to joining a whole new chat here, at first i did not like the change and was very confused, but out of the new change came alot of new friends and another world i had no idea of..and now 6 months later i also have seen alot of changes and have adapted, tho im sure i asked alot of questions myself im sure...The 1 room chat allows alot more interaction with all the viewers in one room, and yes the ignore figure is very handy, and as moderators, its much easier to have us all in one room, communication is the key to a great working chat room, and as for the drunks or peeps not talking about the investigation, it is a world of free speech and tho some are here just for fun and others for the investigation, we as mods are totally aware of anyone that is getting out of hand....

Only problem I have is my computer gets soo lagged that when I'm trying to type and let spook know that I have seen something in one of the cams it doesn't get posted for a bit later... (sometimes not at all) but I'm sure that has to do with my puter not being able to handle the load...
I knew I should of ask Santa for more memory.... maybe a new puter, that way I can be like spooked_1 and have three of em going so I don't miss anything 😆 😉

haha believe me if anyone has problems with chat and video/audio its me...for the longest time i had your problem with chat, i would type and it would take ages for it to go thru, same with smilies etc..and now for whatever reason my java is working no idea why so that problem is solved, but last two nights of investigation or Q and A i had a problem with my audio and video..all choppy even froze, was this close to taking a bat to it...so i had a good sleep and woke up around midnight last night..had a good look at my computer...decided to restore back to when i started to have my audio video problem..restored that and removed all adobe anything thru an adobe download for just that. then reinstalled flash player when it prompted me i needed it, as to have exactly the right flash player..it turned out the culprit was the add-on plug in...then i unstilled my firefox comletely and re-installed that...also removed my spybot and well i positive it found important things i needed and removed them that ran my computer properly..so with that said i cross my fingers that it all works on livescifi..as i cannot test it out unless they are on and also if they are driving.....so lol we will see tuesday night...🙁 if this doesn't work which im 98% sure will) i will indeed get that bat back out lol

personally i hate it. so far i`ve asked a few questions about the investigation in the chat box, and unless i`m sticking to the current topic everyone else is talking about i get no response, it was`nt like that in the old paranormal 3 room, i used to feel like i was contributing to the investigation, now it seems like i`m just some newbie asking dumb questions nobody wants to respond to. i mean if i see something on the streams why should i tell anyone else if they can`t tell me anything when i ask? and i hate to ignore anyone who just could have a good input to the investigation just because their having a good laugh in chat or playing around, now i know the guys are doing the best they can and trying different things to improve our experience, but what was once a serious venture into the paranormal realm has turned into a bunch of monkeys hopping around being all goofy, which leaves me no option but to stick to the large streams and avoid the chatroom entirely which is too bad because i worked very hard to get in the chatroom in the first place, well if i do see anything i got the e-mail to pass the info on to livescifi.tv happy hunting guys

hey crypt..sorry to hear your having problems in chat..i think for starters you came in on a very busy night..i believe spook said 200 viewers and 100 in chat, that is alot...probably one of the biggest nights ever..and to top it off its sat night..i myself have had chat issues or losing my video..and find myself in ustream alot or can't get into chat at all at times..or having to open a few browers and float my chat with video from ustream...crypt give it a chance..livescifi has grown alot as you can see..alot of new viewers...just use the ignore feature if you don't like what some peeps are saying..or pm spook with any questions..or even myself..i think sometimes livescifi gets surprised on all the viewership for certain investigations...myself on sat. night i could not get into chat..no reason why..just gets busy..so i watch from ustream..the team does go into ustream chat also..i'm sure livescifi or tim and the team are looking at different ways to keep peeps happy, and looking for new ways to inhense the experience. lol i go out of my mind when my shockwave errors come on when stream first starts..i lose my video..both of them..and have tried jjust about everything to fix this problem..i spent this sunday working on it again with my son..but i love livescifi so much that instead of getting all frustrated and quiting, i just say in the end it will be all worth it..hang in there crypt

i'm so sorry crypt that you feel left out. i try my best to include everyone in chat, giving them howdees when they come in and answering questions if i know the answer. i wish for everyone to feel welcome!
during investigations i'm usually quiet, taking my notes & screen caps, answering pm's. i'm happy to pm with anyone that wishes, as i know a busy room often leaves a few feeling like a newbie.

It was the first time I sat in on an investigation. Tho I found chatting hectic, I found that Spook did an excellent job of trying to ask her questions and keeping an eye on the chat room when people were giving suggestions and responses. I could not have done it. But I did manage to get thru for a bit.
