Logins and Screen Name Issues with Chat and Forums

I wanted to let everyone know that we have indentified the problem source, that were having signing into the chat, and we have resolved it. The main issue that people were having is that the forums and chat both allow different syntax.

To minimize the confusion with syntax, users will not people to create logins with punctuation, in there usernames. The reason why spooked 1 had a problem is because in our forums he had a space instead of a underscore, which our chat does not allow. So if you need to make have a username were you need to dilineate to words use the underscore.

If anyone has a username that they cannot login into the chat with please let me know and I will promptly correct it. Sorry for all the confusion we are working hard to make this site a place for everyone to enjoy, please email me with any change requests at tim@livescifi.tv.

first of all, i want to thank Tim & Jay for all the hard work both of you put into your website and webcasts! you have been truly helpful at a moments notice. this certainly rang true and showed how accomomodating and quick you were to respond with "spooked's" problem of signing into chat. all the while, you were on an investigation.. and we both (spooked and i) were aware of that. so, a huge thank you!

i was made attention of another problem, during the Jan8th, broadcast, and i'll pm you for the parties involved. perhaps it can be sorted out quickly, as they are so interested and excited to come visit with us in chat.

as a moderator (i'm certain the other mods can attest this to be true), i am happy to do my best to help anyone who is experiencing any problems.. and thus quite a few members pm me with questions that are easily resolved. i'm learning as well of what works and not.. and with your info posted here, i am happy to share it, as it has resolved a few quick hits. i am happy to see a place for you to post all your updates of changes and/or difficulties discovered; as it helps us all to ensure we can share an enjoyable experience.

keep up the good work! i know it takes alot of time and effort..and for that i truly appreciate you and the entire team for all you put into making Livescifi.tv a Top Drawer and spook-a-licious place to be! 😉 haha!
