lag.

hey mace,
we always have time for you my friend.

now listen up.
*when you are in chat, look for the "java" icon in your system tray. right click on that.
*then go to "open console".. and click on clear or "ctrl c" and "ctrl x" to clear the cache and console window.
*now go to your "tools" &/or "internet options" and clear your cache/temp files in there.
*normally i would say, close your browser after that, and reopen a new one.. but while you are in chat, it should be fine to just leave it as that.

hope that helps you somewhat! if not, try using "low bandwidth" so the quads don't slow you down. ok?? let me know if that was helpful to you..

ty spook will try forsure and ty so much

hmm...i also have experienced the lag in the chat room when the slide shows are going on..but when the investigation comes on, chat is normal..i too just minimize the browser and just keep chat up...

just a note..i do empty my cashe in both java and on my browser and remove temporary files...so not sure if that is gonna work Spook...i think its just the slide shows are slowing things up, but im cool with that as long as well the investigation is going, the chat is running normal

xoxoxo

Same here the chat lags like crazy to me too, and I did try emptying the cache's. However that didnt solve it, I tried diffrent browsers (I run firefox as my main, but tried safari.) still laged. I tried minimizing the chat to be inside the web site, still laged. Check my processes, and find my CPU is at only 10%, memory at 415megs of 1.5gigs that I have.

I dont really chat much anyway, so I really dont care. But yup the chat lags, and it has nothing to do with some ones resources, and or cache. Atleast for me it dosnt.

Sadly its hard to find decent chat programs to embed in a site anymore, they all seem to be junk. Ive tried so many of them and they either have log in issues, access issues, or lag. Its funny that IRC which is older then the hills, is still the most reliable form of chat I have seen to date in all three areas.

hey all cleaned up and optimized some of the code last night on one of the servers, and the chat seems to be running a lot smoother..

cheers,

Thanks for your hard work Tim. The site and the chat has never looked and worked so good as it is right now. " title="Applause" />
