Inside this investigation
The stairwell session in this episode brings together ghost-box audio, holy water and a St. Benedict cross. Our team reacts to sounds and sensations while trying to understand what the equipment records. The phrase interpreted as “burn the whole thing down” is a useful place to begin a careful audio comparison. Listen to the recording before accepting those words, then return to the questions and reactions around it. The description also preserves earlier accounts and the experiments that led into this session.
For your own review, listen once without trying to hear a particular word. Then compare the suggested interpretation with the surrounding audio and the question being asked. A repeated playback can help locate a sound, but it can also make an ambiguous fragment feel more familiar. The original description below preserves the investigation notes rather than replacing them with a verdict. In this episode's discussion, give the exact time, describe what you hear and explain any ordinary source you think should be considered. You can also compare the neighboring recordings through the episode navigation.

DID THE GHOST BOX TELL US TO “BURN THE WHOLE THING DOWN” INSIDE THE WELLES HOUSE? In Episode 2 of A House Worse Than Amityville, we use holy water and a St. Benedict cross during a tense stairwell investigation—and a disturbing voice seems to answer. I'm Tim Wood, founder of LiveSciFi. Join our team inside the reportedly haunted Welles House at 46 South Welles Street in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. During this original live investigation, we explore the property's history, test unexplained noises, experiment with EVP and ghost box recordings, and respond to strange things happening around us. Before the stairwell session, we review eyewitness accounts from people connected to the house, including stories about knocking in the walls, a mysterious doll, and frightening experiences near the stairs. We play part of an exorcism recording as an experiment. Then the investigators report rumbling, cold sensations, possible physical contact, and a radio unexpectedly switching off. Viewers also spotted numerous moving orb-like lights on our cameras—especially while holy water was being used. 👻 INVESTIGATION HIGHLIGHTS & TIMESTAMPS 8:44 — DID A DOOR MOVE?
We hear a loud sound at a door and investigate. No one is found behind it. 33:57 — THE HOUSE SHAKES?
Several investigators react to a rumbling or shaking sensation during the exorcism recording. 39:22 — POSSIBLE SCRATCHING
An investigator feels burning or scratching on his back. The team checks but doesn't identify a clear mark at that moment. 44:20 — GHOST BOX SAYS “DEMON”?
We interpret an audio fragment as “demon” during questions about the house. 46:27 — “MANY” AND “ONE”?
A viewer hears these words and suggests a connection to the Biblical story of Legion. That's an interpretation, not a confirmed identity. 1:04:32 — SOMETHING TOUCHES HIS HEAD?
An investigator reports a touch during the stairwell session, and the team reviews the recording. 1:11:05 — POSSIBLE ORBS ABOVE THE STAIRS
Viewers report multiple moving lights around the investigators and doorway. 1:13:42 — A LARGE ORB MOVING UPSTAIRS?
One viewer identifies a larger, slower-moving light heading toward the dark second floor. 1:14:15 — THE GHOST BOX SHUTS OFF
The investigators react when the radio suddenly stops during questions involving a crucifix. 1:15:41–1:17:44 — HOLY WATER AND LIGHT ANOMALIES
Viewers identify several more orb-like lights near the stairwell and doorways as the team uses holy water and a St. Benedict cross. 1:17:43 — “BURN THE WHOLE THING DOWN”?
The investigators interpret a ghost box response as an instruction to burn down the house. 1:21:27 — REPLAYING THE VOICE
We listen again to the disturbing phrase and discuss what we heard. 1:23:28 — WHO IS “BISHOP”?
A ghost box session produces several responses we interpret as “Bishop,” along with disturbing phrases about a hanging. They do not establish that anyone was murdered. 1:37:39 — “I KILLED HIM”?
During a playback, the team hears what might be these words. The source and wording are uncertain. 1:54:35 — “WE CAN DO THIS”?
Another playback sounds to the team like a longer, more encouraging phrase. 🎧 USE HEADPHONES AND DECIDE FOR YOURSELF Ghost boxes sweep radio signals, and infrared cameras can make dust, insects, reflections, or compression artifacts resemble orbs. The reported words and light anomalies are not independently verified evidence of spirits. WHY WE KEEP INVESTIGATING THE WELLES HOUSE What makes this location so compelling to me is how the former occupants' accounts compare with what we've experienced during our own investigations. We also check unusually high EMF readings near the stairs and discuss whether the house's electrical system could explain them. Was the “burn it down” message an intelligent response, a radio fragment, or something else? Did the cameras record unusual movement? Watch the original footage and share what YOU find. 👻 WELLES HOUSE HISTORY:
