These are the reason I spend my time watching and not doing much chatting. I to take them more serious and I personally don't care for the raunchy talk but again that is just my personal feelings. So I'm always there, just quietly watching the investigations.
I think the chat could be more controled by the mod or mods if they had the option like many chat rooms to go into slow mode meaning chat does not scroll fast..we are not all speed readers, i missed alot of chat Sat due to all the new viewers etc..
Also there is something called the ignore button that all chatters do have..you click on the person that is annoying and poof you do not see them...and if i have a problem that cannot be fixed myself..then i pm a moderator..not Tim..he is on a investigation
The IGNORE BUTTON works great
What Tim needs to do and I believe he can because most forums you can do this. Is Ban their ISP which they won't or it will be very hard for them to get back in unless they get a new one.
And I know ignore works Train but why should we have to ignore them? They should be more mature to handle themselves and not be asses. Ya know?
Tim has an IP ban. Believe me. It works even by accident. 🙂

Tim has all the means to ISP them should he choose so...and unfortunately as you probably know all chat rooms have the friday sat. night asses and partiers..but i agree about being able to handle themselves but in some cases they come into these chat rooms just to do that be asses that is their main goal to upset a chatroom of what they are doing investigating and watching...
As for newbies to the chatroom i have to question why that moderator should have to answer all the newbies questions about equipment and stuff...seems the job of a moderator is to moderate a chat room not do a meet and greet ...they are there to control a room..if newbies come in with no knowledge of what is going on i question why don't we all attempt to help them...alot of us have been here along time...let the mods do there jobs..it seems we usually meet and say hi to each new person if we can and we do answer questions..but sat. night was just way way to busy that night..it was like the gates were open lol

I disagree. I believe that a moderator is there to help the chat flow as flawlessly as possible. A moderator, in my opinion, is there to help make sure the rules aren't being broken and by doing that, it's important to answer the questions of those who may be new to chat.
I fully support other chatters helping out as they can, but I also think it's important that a representative of LiveSciFi is there to help field questions and guide people as they explore the site and chat. As of right now, the only representative available (besides Tim or another team member) is the moderator. When there are investigations going on, it's not fair, nor should it be the responsibility of the team to have to field questions or even deal with anything to do with chat or the site in general.
I fully agree that if things aren't handled promptly that ignore functions are in place for a reason, but I also believe that you shouldn't have to use that function unless a moderator isn't doing their job.

Thats cool Mel..no problem if you disagree, but i am just stating my opinion..there are alot of chatters in the chat that have been on this site for along time and yes they do know alot...but when the chat room is as busy as it was Sat night and the chat was scrolling way to fast to catch everything..is it that hard for someone who does know alot about Livescifi to help out when possible..Until there is more mods, im sure the moderator right now did the best they could considering the things that went on that night..more mods will help im sure... and im sure Tim does not mind answering questions if he is on the computer to do so, but alot of us as chatters here do also know alot about Livescifi..can we just drop this, im sure Tim is on top of everything and aware of what is going on..I was a moderator in other chat rooms and at times the moderator could be very busy answering pm's, reading what is going on, talking with other mods as to what to do, im sure the moderator is not just sitting there watching all the fun and games that goes on in a chat room..again just my opinion

does anyone else have any more input before i make a decision..
i took everyones opinions and formulated this...
1. -created two new rooms
- serious investigation chat
-ask a mod chat (moderated chat, the mods will get pm'd messages when someone types something in the room, and will get a prompt response whether is problems with another member or questions about the site.)
2. 2 more mods
3. zero tolerence towards harrasment of any member of livescifi.tv or cast member
I think these will be suitable solutions for the time being and are effective today. Thanks everyone for your input!
