Inside this investigation
A viewer's report at 21:51 makes this a useful episode for studying how a bright object appears to move through the staircase camera view. Another report points to lights near the steps earlier in the recording. I have kept the original labels so that you can find what viewers meant without treating their interpretation as a conclusion. Compare the object's path, brightness and visibility with the room around it. The surrounding seconds may explain more than a still frame of the brightest moment.
For this website edition, I suggest beginning with the full camera view and choosing one observation at a time. Note which part of the image changes, how long it remains visible and whether the same effect returns. Keep the surrounding footage in your comparison, including periods when nothing unusual seems to happen. The complete original description is preserved below. When you join the episode discussion, include a timestamp and the camera position so another viewer can reproduce your review. The adjacent episode links let you compare this recording with the wider investigation.

DID A GHOST ORB MOVE DOWN THE STAIRS, GET BRIGHTER, THEN RUSH BACK UP? Watch the original Welles House footage at 21:51 and decide for yourself. I'm Tim Wood, founder of LiveSciFi. In Episode 18 of A House Worse Than Amityville, we're continuing our extended paranormal investigation of the reportedly haunted Welles House at 46 South Welles Street in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, also known in searches as 46 Welles Street. This episode has drawn attention from viewers watching the staircase footage. One viewer flagged a light at 21:51 that appears to come down the stairs, brighten, quickly move back up, and take on a misty appearance. Another pointed to the upper-right area near the steps at 03:27 and reported multiple orb-like lights. These are viewer observations, not confirmed paranormal events. I want you to watch the actual recording rather than rely on a cropped screenshot. Pay attention to how the light enters and leaves the frame, whether its edges change, and what might be happening close to the camera. Did we capture something unusual at the Welles House, or could infrared reflections, dust, insects, or a camera effect explain it? EPISODE 18 - YOUTUBE CHAPTERS
00:00 Welles House investigation footage begins
03:27 Viewer-reported lights near the staircase
21:51 ORB-LIKE LIGHT descends, brightens, and moves back up THE STAIRCASE MOMENT - WATCH 21:51 This is the moment I most want you to review. A viewer described a bright orb-like object moving down the stairs, becoming more luminous, then rapidly returning upward and looking misty. That change in appearance makes the moment interesting to examine in motion. Pause, replay at normal speed, and then compare the object with other lights in the recording. A shape or blur can look very different from frame to frame, especially under infrared illumination. MORE POSSIBLE ORB ACTIVITY - WATCH 03:27 Another viewer spotted activity in the top-right of the screen near the steps and mentioned seeing numerous orbs. Look at that part of the camera view and note whether the bright objects travel in front of furniture, change focus, or seem to pass close to the lens. A nearby particle can appear much larger and brighter than it is because of how night-vision cameras illuminate the scene. WHY THE WELLES HOUSE STAIRCASE MATTERS During our investigation, the staircase repeatedly became an area of interest. Our team reported unusual sensations and sounds there, while viewers helped us identify footage worth revisiting. The Welles House series follows the investigation over multiple episodes, so the staircase recording is one piece of a larger record rather than proof of any particular explanation. ARE ORBS ON CAMERA REALLY GHOSTS? Many ghost-hunting viewers associate glowing balls of light with spirits. But an orb in an infrared recording isn't automatically evidence of a ghost. Dust, insects, moisture, reflections, lens flare, autofocus changes, and video compression can all create unusual shapes or motion. A single camera angle may not provide enough information to identify the object. That's why we keep the original footage available and ask viewers to tell us precisely what they observed. ABOUT THE WELLES HOUSE - 46 WELLES STREET The Welles House, located at 46 South Welles Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA, has been the subject of reported paranormal experiences. In A House Worse Than Amityville, I document our time inside the property with security-camera views, audio sessions, and firsthand investigative footage. You'll also encounter the address written simply as 46 Welles Street. Our goal is to preserve the footage and examine the claims, not treat every unfamiliar light as a verified spirit. HELP US INVESTIGATE At 21:51, do you see one object reversing direction or several separate reflections? Does it truly look misty as it goes back up? At 03:27, what appears in the top-right area by the stairs? Please share the EXACT TIMESTAMP and the camera position in the comments. If you have an ordinary explanation, share that too. Every careful observation helps our LiveSciFi community review these recordings more critically. READ THE WELLES HOUSE HISTORY & HAUNTING:
