Inside this investigation
Dave, Patrick and I return with recording equipment and meters. The supplied notes identify possible voices earlier in the session, then a growl-like sound near an old wooden hamper. The team subsequently examines scratches and holes inside it. Those are separate observations to compare in order: a reported sound does not establish when or how the marks were made. Use the chapter controls to review the sound, our immediate response and the closer inspection without losing the context between them.
For your own review, listen once without trying to hear a particular word. Then compare the suggested interpretation with the surrounding audio and the question being asked. A repeated playback can help locate a sound, but it can also make an ambiguous fragment feel more familiar. The original description below preserves the investigation notes rather than replacing them with a verdict. In this episode's discussion, give the exact time, describe what you hear and explain any ordinary source you think should be considered. You can also compare the neighboring recordings through the episode navigation.

DID A GHOST WHISPER MY NAME—AND DID SOMETHING GROWL NEAR AN OLD WOODEN HAMPER? During our Welles House investigation, viewers reported faint voices on our recordings, while I heard a disturbing growl upstairs. When we examined the hamper, we found deep scratches and holes inside. What made the sound—and how did those marks get there? I'm Tim Wood, founder of LiveSciFi. In Episode 46 of A House Worse Than Amityville, I return with Dave Spinks and Patrick to the reportedly haunted Welles House at 46 South Welles Street in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania (also searched as 46 Welles Street). We're investigating possible EVPs, shadow figures, ghost box responses and unexplained sounds using night-vision cameras, audio recorders and EMF meters. We start by checking EMF levels and ordinary electrical sources. Later, the investigation takes us from a basement shadow report to unsettling radio-scan audio and an upstairs EVP session that ends with a strange sound near a wooden hamper. 1:58:00 Investigators examine the marks more closely DID WE CAPTURE A SHADOW FIGURE IN THE BASEMENT? At 38:13, an investigator reports seeing a dark shape moving across the basement. We examine what may have happened, but a reported shadow is not proof of a ghost. Watch the lighting, camera movement and background carefully. What do you see? GHOST BOX VOICES: “BAMBI,” “BLEED” AND “TIM”? Around 46:20, a viewer hears what sounds like “Bambi” after Dave asks about another investigator. At 48:22, another viewer hears “Kay.” Later, we interpret radio-scan fragments as words including “bleed” and “cut.” At 1:03:40, a viewer flags a faint whisper that could sound like my name. These readings are subjective: radio broadcasts, interference and our expectations can make short sounds resemble words. Listen without looking at the suggested phrases first. THE UPSTAIRS EVP WHISPERS During a solo upstairs recording near 1:45:46, a viewer identifies a quiet male-sounding “yeah” after I ask whether there's something I need to know. Another viewer hears a possible female whisper at 1:52:55. Put on headphones, compare the background noise on both sides of each moment, and tell us whether you hear speech—or something ordinary. WHAT GROWLED NEAR THE WOODEN HAMPER? At 1:54:52, I react to a growl-like sound near an old hamper in an upstairs room. A few minutes later, around 1:57:08, we examine deep marks and holes inside the wood. We discuss whether an animal could have made them. The marks were already present when we inspected the hamper, and we did not establish their age or origin. There's no verified link between the scratches and the sound, which makes this one of the moments I'd most like viewers to review independently. HELP US INVESTIGATE EPISODE 46 What do YOU hear at 1:45:46 and 1:52:55? Does the sound at 1:54:52 resemble an animal, a person, or something else? Comment with the EXACT TIMESTAMP and what you noticed. Skeptical explanations are welcome—our goal is to examine the footage, not to treat every anomaly as proof of paranormal activity.
