Inside this investigation

I am alone with the board and recording equipment when scratching and a low sound interrupt the session. A later viewer report suggests a deep voice near a particular phrase. I want listeners to compare that interpretation with the original audio and room context. A sound that is difficult to identify does not become a confirmed voice because a suggested phrase makes it easier to hear.

For a sudden sound, compare the lead-up with the team’s response and any ordinary activity nearby. A noise may be easy to locate in a recording but difficult to identify. Describing its timing, character and possible source is more useful than assigning it an identity because of the question being asked.

When reviewing the board, follow the letter order and spoken questions as well as the eventual phrase. A name or message in the notes records the interpretation made during the investigation. It does not independently identify a communicator. Comparing the movement with the suggested wording is part of reviewing the experiment.
